Brotherly love

These 2 brothers definitely love each other. But, they cannot stop showing each other just how much. They constantly feel the need to wrestle with each other...hard, and with punches and kicks. Usually, it's also full of laughs and giggles. But, sometimes there are cries of pain and words in anger. We're thankful that they have each other to play with. But I admit, there are times when I wish they would leave each other alone. Boys, boys, boys. They are a mess, but they are also a joy and these 2 are the most precious little sweeties. I am thankful for my 2 boys!

Best Buddy Cousins

The other day, Brad's best buddy Thomas, came over to play. These boys always have a great time together! They get along incredibly well and are always kind enough to include Trent. They had so much fun swinging, running around the yard, fighting bad guys and playing legos. We are thankful for our sweet cousins!!

Julia (Child) and Rachel (Ray): Baking Beauties

Ready for baking...

tea cookies...mmmmmm!!

the beautiful tea cookie (displayed on seldom-used china)

The girls are so much fun to do stuff with...and they love crafting, creating and baking. We found a recipe for tea cakes and had the ingredients for them, so we decided to give them a try. They were DELICIOUS!! The girls worked soooo hard on them and we ALL enjoyed the yummy result!
Both girls have already decided what they want to bake next!

Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do?

Fierce! Who would wanna mess with them?!

Cute cousins

Weapons in action

These 3 boys never run out of ideas for things to do to keep themselves occupied. They get along extremely well and giggle lots! In one day, they played: videogames, choo choo trains, real life Mario Kart, jumped on the trampoline, ran around the house, played on the swingset, giggled and watched GeoTrax and some of Wreck it Ralph. We love our cousins!!

Blue skies...

I was struck today by how beautiful the sky looked!! It rained tons last night and I guess all these clouds were the remains. Just thought it was mighty pretty looking at God's handiwork!

No Dress Code, No problem!

Rach loves to wear her loud pants with her cowgirl boots! She loves bright, bold prints and fun designs.

Trent loves to spike his hair with as much hair gel as possible and he is very particular about what he wears!

Brad dresses for comfort...seriously he is least likely to care what he wears...but he does love his Mohawk!

We are always happy that we can wear whatever we want. We get to experiment with our different styles. We are blissfully unaware of the latest trends. We set our own. We are homeschoolers. :)

Specs and Health

2 handsome Milligan boys in their glasses

my cute boy

Our adorable, handsome boy got his glasses today. We only realized about 2 weeks ago that he was seeing very differently out of his eyes. One eye was normal and the other one was lazy. (You would think his teacher would have caught this before now!!) Anyway, after a routine eye check at the pediatrician for his well-visit, they advised us to follow up with an opthamologist. So, we went to see Nick's eye doctor, who did an extensive exam of Bradley's beautiful brown eyes. After 2 hours and an unpleasant eye dilation, the dr. determined that Brad would need to wear glasses. He may end up having to wear a patch too, but we'll know more after a month's adjustment to these cool, new glasses. Brad has handled this like a champ and hopefully will adjust very quickly to wearing his specs.

As for the well-visit, it was past time for Rachel to have her 9 year check up and Brad to have his 7 year check up. So, we knocked them both out in one day. We are sooooo thankful to have 3 very healthy and growing children. There were not any horrible, painful shots for anyone this day. But, there was a very unpleasant finger prick for our needle-sensitive son, Bradley. All in all, the visit was great and the kids are happy and healthy.

Here are our growing children's stats:
Rachel- 91 lbs, 54.25"
Brad- 53.75 lbs, 47.5"
Trent- 38 lbs, 41.5" (from his well-visit in May)

We are so blessed to have such precious, healthy children and are thankful for them every day!

Trenty Van Googer

Trent is quite the artist. Check out his precise lines and fine motor skills at drawing both large and small objects. Add art to Trent's long list of things he is good at.  :)

When we asked him who each person was, he changed his mind many times, but poor Bradley was always the tiniest one on the page. Does this say something about little brothers being a little jealous of their big brothers??!!
