our hotel room...filled to the brim, with an air mattress, a covered puke spot and a sick little girl

We were delighted to pull into Pigeon Forge right at lunch time. We were all hungry and ready for a yummy meal. Cracker Barrel seemed like a great idea! We love that restaurant and the many food options to meet everyone's taste preferences. Plus, it's so much fun looking at their store! After lunch, we went shopping for souvenirs with the kids. We went to such Pigeon Forge exclusives as, Wal Mart and a few outlets. We ate yummy ice cream at the Marble Slab Creamery and ended the day with a dip in the heated, indoor pool.

At bedtime, Rach wanted to be the first to sleep on the air mattress, so she was on the floor. She had a tummy ache all afternoon (not unusual for Rachel's sensitive stomach!) and then said her body was aching at bedtime. So, we gave her some motrin and everyone went to bed. At 3am, I woke up to a horrendous sound...one that no one ever wants to hear...and especially NOT in a hotel room. Poor Rachel had gotten sick and needed to throw up, but did not make it to the bathroom. Somehow the boys slept while I sent Rach to the bathroom and attempted to clean up barf with ZERO cleaning supplies. It was quite a nasty feat, for sure. If I NEVER smell a bar of Ramada's complimentary soap again, it'll be too soon. After an adequate clean-up, I put Rach back in bed and went back to sleep. Poor Rach got up 2 more times to be sick, but she made it to the bathroom each time.

The  next day, Rachel was feeling some better, but she had zero energy and of course the residual effects of a tummy ache and heaving. Rach and I rested all morning and watched tv while Nick took the boys to do a few fun things and get out of the room.

(To be continued...)
