This sweet boy got his 4th trophy this year after having a fantastic year on the Dodgers kid/coach pitch. He sure does love adding a pretty trophy to his display shelf. We're so proud of our adorable Bradley and he played so well and had so much fun this year!! Go Dodgers!!!

how clever is this guy??!!
Trent, you are soooooooo clever! After getting a new kite for his birthday from his sweet sister, Trent tried flying it the traditional way...but hey, that's too much work! So, our clever boy decided to tie his kite to the back of his "jeep" and let the jeep do all the work. It was pretty comical to see him driving thru the yard with his kite attached to the back. But, it was also a great idea and it worked beautifully!

me and my sweet girl |
A few weeks ago, we had a rare family day. Nick had taken the day off and we decided to hang out and do some fun stuff. The kids had several "reasonable" suggestions: go to the beach, go to Disney World, etc... We finally all agreed that bowling was the best and most practical activity for the day. :) We had lots of fun and Nick and the kids bowled really well! I am, by far, the worst bowler in the family. But, it is lots of fun and the kids get such a kick out of it! Who knows, maybe one day we'll join a league! ;)

The Rodeo
Mellie, Hannah, Rachel and Haleigh |
Collie, Brandon, Trent and Bradley |
some of the horses resting after the rodeo |
A few weeks ago, our homeschool group went to the local Rodeo, put on by the UGA Block and Bridle Club. It was our first experience at the rodeo, and it was LOTS of fun! Since it was a special events rodeo, it was geared towards school groups, so we didn't see or experience all the parts of a rodeo, but we saw plenty. The energy level was high and we were very impressed with the bull riders, horse riders, emcees, rodeo clowns, etc... It was a very fun and unique experience for us!

Learning Grove End of Year Program
Well, the pictures aren't too good but we had such a wonderful time at the kid's end of year celebration for Learning Grove a few weeks ago! Unfortunately I didn't get a good pic of either of my kids, and they sure did look cute! The program involved lots of beautiful singing and many, many precious, heart-felt solos. The most beautiful solo was performed by our own sweet Rachel. Her voice was beautiful, sweet, sincere and pitch-perfect as she sang a line from "I will follow" by Chris Tomlin. Bradley's group sang a couple of songs, but everyone's favorite was "Happy" by Pharrell. It's all the rage right now in the world and I admit it is very catchy, fun and happy! I had a hard time keeping my emotions in check throughout the entire program. We are so blessed to be part of such a wonderful group of families and I feel especially thankful that I am able to homeschool my joys.
Till next school year...

Nobody NOSE the trouble I've seen, Nobody NOSE my sorrow!
Day 1 |
Day 1 |
Day 2? |
Day 3? |
Day 4? |
Day 5? |
Day 6? |
Day 7? |
On the day after Easter, (thankfully, since we got awesome, injury-free pictures) Bradley had a freak accident in our kitchen and broke his nose. He had on some traction-less slippers that he always found really fun to "ski" with on our wooden floors. Unfortunately, he was running thru the hallway and somehow fell completely face first, flat on the floor. He had on his glasses and they were shoved way up on the bridge of his nose. Poor Bradley was in some serious pain. I was very concerned (as were Rach and Trent) and didn't really know what to do. We held a wet washcloth with some ice on it while we called daddy to see what he thought we should do. We ended up having Brad checked out at the pediatrician, who basically did nothing. They said to keep ice on it for several days. They also recommended us seeing a plastic surgeon, but we decided to wait a week and follow up with an ENT. Chalk it up to youthfulness, divine healing, or all of the above, but our boy's nose looked 1 million times better within 1 week. The ENT felt, pushed on, squeezed, etc... Brad's nose and thought it had healed beautifully. We are so thankful that Brad wasn't more seriously injured and that his handsome face still has that gorgeous, straight nose!!

Look Ma: No training wheels!!
this is a "piece of cake"! |
Oh, Trenty, you never cease to amaze us with what you can do! A couple of weeks ago, Bradley fell off his bike and scraped his leg. While he was recovering with some TLC and a few bandaids, Trent helped Nick move Brad's bike out of the middle of the driveway. While Trent was catching a ride, he took off on Brad's bike...without training wheels!! We were all so impressed! Trent was a little wobbly at first, but he caught on quicker than any kid I've ever seen on his first attempt without training wheels. So, Nick took the training wheels off Trent's new bike and now he flies all over the yard on his new birthday bike sans training wheels! Trent declares this achievement as a "piece of cake"! He's proud...and so are we! Go, Trenty, go!!!!

Blessed Beyond Measure!!

my joys!!!! |
My beautiful family |
I am such a blessed mom and wife! I could have never imagined that I would be so richly blessed to be married to the love of my life and to be mom to the 3 most precious children in the world. There are definitely days where I find myself tired of the redundancy of our daily lives. Sometimes I long for that beach vacation where we can play and swim and do something different. But then I remember how lucky I am to be in this redundancy...these 3 precious people need me a lot right now. They desire my company, my approval and my love...all the time! I know this won't last forever and their independence will become their way of life. So, I try, on those days when I'm feeling like I need a change, to remember that I am a blessed mom. That I am doing an important job and that my redundancy will change one day...and it'll probably be to something far less exciting, rewarding or loving as being a full time mom to these precious kiddos.
Happy Mother's Day to my beautiful, precious mom, who I always emulated and still admire for being an incredibly loving, generous mom! Love you so much mom!!!

Dyeing Eggs-2014
We had a lot of fun dyeing eggs again this year for Easter. The kids are at such a fun age where they can be trusted to do things with very little help. They're egg-dyeing pros now!
